Fact Check: Viral Message About Toll Tax Attributing to Nitin Gadkari Is Fake

A message attributed to Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, is going viral on social media. The message claims that whenever you pay toll at a toll plaza, pay for 12 hours. If you come back within 12 hours, you will not have to pay toll tax.

(English translation: If you take a ticket at the toll plaza, he asks one side or both sides; so friends, now tell the concerned person at plaza to issue for 12 hours, not single or double side. If you come back within 12 hours, no toll charges will be applicable. Even the toll tickets have time printed on it. Due to lack of information, toll plaza people are looting us and earning lakhs of rupees illegally. I request you all to send this message to all and make them aware. Thanks.
