Shubman Gill Scores Double Ton, Fifth Indian To Smash 200+ In ODI

Date:

Hyderabad: A massive feat for Indian opener Shubman Gill as he hits 208 runs, guiding India to a mammoth total of 349/8 against New Zealand winning the first ODI on Wednesday.

With this, Shubman Gill becomes the youngest batsman to slam a double hundred in ODI innings. Gill shattered the record and surpassed Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan as he completed 1000 runs in just 19 innings.

Gill played an extraordinary inning which included 19 fours and nine sixes. Gill managed to surpass Indian legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar as his 208 runs inning becomes the highest individual score against New Zealand which was earlier held by Sachin.

He further joins the elite list as Gill becomes the fifth Indian batsman to hit a double century after Sachin Tendulkar, Virendra Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan.

His double-century inning further became the highest individual score by a batsman at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
