A picture has surfaced on the Internet showing a bunch of men standing in a queue. It has been claimed that the picture is from Pakistan and the queue is for advance booking of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie Pathaan.

The caption in Hindi reads: “पाकिस्तान में पठान मूवी की एडवांस बुकिंग स्टार्ट हो गयी है। 😁😁”

(English translation: Advance booking for Pathaan movie started in Pakistan. 😁😁)

FACT CHECK

NewMobile fact-checked the above post, and found it to be false.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found the same picture in an article by The Guardian, dated August 24, 2010, about flooding in Pakistan.

The caption reads: 23 August: People stand in a queue for relief food, at a makeshift camp in Sukkur Photograph: Asif Hassan/AFP/Getty Images

Another report by CNN, dated August 24, 2010, features the same picture showing flood victims in Pakistan’s Sukkur.

Hence, it can be concluded that the picture in question is from 2010 and is falsely linked to the Pathaan release.
