A Facebook user posted the viral video with a caption: आज @JPNadda जी ने सच बोल ही दिया… सुनिए, “BJP की सरकार मतलब बलात्कार” ड्रोन और दूरबीन वाले जरूर सुने!!! (English translation: Today @JPNadda ji has spoken the truth… Listen, “BJP’s government means rape” Drones and binoculars must listen!!!)

Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, we identified a tweet dated January 12, 2023, published on the official Twitter handle of JP Nadda. Watching the video, we came to know that it is from Nadda’s public address in Agartala, Tripura.
Nadda’s attire and other elements of the video match the viral clip. From 20:50 we hear Nadda draw a comparison between CPM and BJP government. During this time, he calls out “CPM ki sarkaar matlab Balatkaar”. He further goes on criticising the CPM government.
A YouTube clip published on the official channel of BJP carries Nadda’s exact statement on criticising CPM. The video published on January 13, 2023 and titled: अगर अंधेरे को ध्यान में रखकर उजाले का महत्व नहीं समझोगे तो राजनीति में हमेशा नुकसान में रहोगे।, shows him calling out CPM for harassing women.
Here too, we could not hear him say anything bad about BJP. Watching the YouTube video and the broadcast tweet, it is clear that the viral video has been edited to make it sound like Nadda linked BJP to rape and harassment. Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video’s claim is false.
