New Delhi: As dense fog grips the national capital on Thursday morning, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert with the Indira Gandhi International Airport alerting all its passengers.

- Delhi Airport issued an advisory requesting passengers to contact the concerned airline as “Low Visibility Procedures are in progress”.
- Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 2.8 degrees Celsius at Lodhi Road and at 3 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung.
- At Safdarjung the visibility was recorded at 50 meters at 5:30 am this morning.
- IMD further predicted dense fog in the upcoming days amid cold waves.
- The Regional Meteorological Department, Delhi of the IMD said that there will be “dense to very dense fog at many places.
- The report further added that “Cold day to severe cold day conditions at a few places and cold day conditions at isolated places in Delhi”.
- Delhi’s AQI is also forecast to remain likely in the ‘very poor’ category till January 13.
