Rajouri: In a gruesome incident, a child reportedly died and five others were injured in an IED blast that took place in Dhangri village of Rajouri district in Jammu on Monday.
According to reports, the blast took place at the site a few hours after a suspected terror attack that claimed the lives of four people yesterday evening.
Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police, while confirming the news said that “A blast occurred near the house of the victim of yesterday’s firing incident in Rajouri’s Upper Dangri village. One child has succumbed to injuries. Five people were injured, one critical. Another suspected IED was spotted which is being cleared.”
Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha condemned the terror attack in Rajouri and added that “I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Rajouri. I assure the people that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families.”
He further added that “An ex-gratia of Rs. 10 lakh and a Govt job would be given to the next of kin of each of those civilians martyred in dastardly attack. Seriously injured would be given Rs.1 lakh. Officials have been directed to ensure best treatment to injured.”
