New Delhi: Amid the recent surge in the number of Covid-related cases globally, India has mandated RT-PCR tests for passengers arriving from five countries, including China.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya took to Twitter and added: “RT-PCR test has been made mandatory for flyers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand.”

The rule will be effective in the country from January 1, 2023. The tweet further added that passengers arriving from these countries will have to “upload their reports on the Air Suvidha portal before travel.”
The active COVID caseload stands at 3,552 cases with a recovery rate of 98.8% as reported on Thursday.
