The Chinese soldiers clashed with Indian troops deployed in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh on December 9, 2022. Against this backdrop, an image of two soldiers held captive by a few men in uniform went viral on social media. The caption associated with the image implied that Indian soldiers caught Chinese soldiers.
The image is shared with a caption: “”മധുര മനോക്ഞ ചൈന” (കടപ്പാട് CPM) ആണ് #MODIfied ഇന്ത്യൻ പട്ടാളത്തിന് മുന്നിൽ കുനിഞ്ഞ് നിൽക്കുന്നത്….. ചാരൻമാർക്കായി ഷെയർ ചെയ്ത് സമർപ്പിക്കാം….#IndianArmy #NarendraModi #BJP4IND” (English translation: “Sweet minded China” (Courtesy CPM) is the one who bows down in front of the Indian Army… Collected crores of rupees from the Chinese Embassy every year…Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Akhiloka Communist…Share and submit to the spies…

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile did a fact-check, and found it to be false.
Doing a Google Reverse Image Search, we found the same image published by a Chinese media outlet, Narenwo, on December 23, 2020. (English translation: “Filming of the Indian drama “Kalwan Valley” shows capturing of the PLA, which is contrary to reality”
Another media site, INF.News, has also published the same image, saying: “The Indian drama ‘Kalwan River Valley’ was filmed. The film shows conflict in the Kalwan Valley at the Sino-Indian border.
Another YouTube video, published by Martial Art Ladakh, dated December 3, 2020, features the scene from which the above screengrab has been taken. At around the 5:47 timestamp, one can clearly see the visual that has gone viral. Also, in the video one can see people holding cameras.
Also, the Chinese Army uniform is quite different from what is seen in the image. In the viral image, the blue uniform represents Chinese Army personnel. But in reality, the uniform of the China’s People’s Liberation Army is different.
Thus, it is clear that the image in circulation is not real.
