Upon scanning through @brfootball on Twitter, we found the tweet, dated December 19, 2022, having the original picture.

In the original picture, Messi is seen smiling at the logo of the Argentina National Team after the final of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
In the above FAKE vs REAL collage, it is clear that Mamata Banerjee’s face was superimposed on the original picture using photo-editing software.
