FIFA World Cup Final Shatters 25-Year-Old Google Search Records: CEO Sundar Pichai

New Delhi: While Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi shattered several records last night during the finals of the FIFA World Cup, football fans across the globe too joined in and broke the record of searches on the search engine Google.

The internet broke the record for the number of searches made for updates during the FIFA World Cup match between France and Argentina on Sunday.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai took to Twitter and added that “Search recorded its highest ever traffic in 25 years during the final of FIFA World Cup, it was like the entire world was searching about one thing!”

According to Google Trends Analysis, most keyword searches were around the updates on FIFA World Cup Final, Messi, Argentina Vs France, and Kylian Mbappe.

Sundar Pichai while talking about the match added that “One of the greatest games ever. Well played Argentina and France. Jogo Bonito. Nobody deserves it more than messi.”

Earlier on Sunday, Lionel Messi scored two goals during the match followed by another goal in the penalty shootout, leading the side to a 4-2 win on penalties against France.
