BJP Holds Nationwide Protests Against Pak Foreign Minister’s Derogatory Remark On PM Modi

Date:

Bharatiya Janata Party held nationwide protests on Saturday as the party condemns the derogatory remarks made by Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari against Prime Minister Narendra Modi that sparked outrage across the country on Friday.

The protests began in Maharashtra Mumbai and Pune simultaneously on Saturday morning with hundreds of BJP workers and leaders gathering at major junctions with placards in their hands. They also burnt the effigies of Pakistan and Pakistan’s Foreign Minister while shouting slogans against them.

Similarly, in Mumbai, hundreds of BJP workers and leaders gathered at various places and held demonstrations. They even played songs criticizing the Pakistan government and its foreign minister.

Members of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha also protested in Jammu against Bilawal Bhutto’s remark and raised slogans.

A protest was held in Odisha’s Bhubhaneswar too, against Bhutto’s remark.

In Lucknow, BJP workers gathered at the Atal Chowk to march and shouted slogans against Bilawal Bhutto. Party workers also carried effigies of Bhutto to burn them at the protest site.

The BJP youth wing held a protest at Karnataka and demanded an apology from Bhutto to PM Modi. They also raised slogans against state Congress leaders DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah calling them ‘DK Yesukumar’ and ‘Siddaramullah Khan’. The youth wing will also submit a memorandum to the Governor after the protest demanding immediate action against the Pakistan minister for his remark.

BJP MP and party state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar led the protest in Telangana against Bilawal Bhutto. The protest was held at Babu Jagjeevan Ram Statue, in Basheer Bagh.

BJP workers also staged a protest on Friday outside Pakistan high commission in the national capital.

Meanwhile, Spokesperson of the ministry of external affairs (MEA) Arindam Bagchi said, “These comments are a new low, even for Pakistan. Pakistan foreign minister’s frustration would be better directed towards the masterminds of terrorist enterprises in his own country, who have made terrorism a part of their state policy. Pakistan needs to change its own mindset or remain a pariah.”
