A claim has surfaced on the internet stating that the Irish cricket board has offered Indian cricketer Sanju Samson to play for Ireland, however, Samson rejected the offer.
The post in Bangla read: “আয়ারল্যান্ডের হয়ে খেলার জন্য সঞ্জু স্যামসনকে অফার করে আয়ারল্যান্ড ক্রিকেট বোর্ড। কিন্তু সঞ্জু তাদের এই প্রস্তাব প্রত্যাখ্যান করে বলেন―

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be false.
Upon running a Google search with relevant keywords, we did not find any credible report supporting the above claim.
We further scanned through the official social media handles of Sanju Samson (@IamSanjuSamson) and Ireland Cricket Board (@cricketireland), but there was no such information about such an offer.
NewsMobile has directly reached out to the Ireland Cricket Board and its spokesperson clarified that no such offer was made to Sanson.
We also came across a Twitter thread dated December 11-12, 2022, by Sportskeeds in which responding to their own tweet making the above claim clarified that the claim of Samson being offered to join the Ireland team is false stating that Ireland has denied such a claim.
