Porvorim: Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has successfully replicated a crucial feat like his father. While playing his debut Ranji Trophy match against Rajasthan, he smashed a century on the second day of the game on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old Arjun Tendulkar slammed his maiden Ranji Trophy century while playing for Goa, building up a partnership of more than 200 runs with Suyash Prabhudessai who continues to bat 192 after facing 387 balls.
Back in 1988, Sachin Tendulkar became the first batter in the country to score centuries in Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, and Deodhar Trophy debut. He went on to finish the season as the highest run-scorer from Mumbai with a total of 583 runs and an average of 67.77.
Arjun Tendulkar is an all-rounder who was picked by the Mumbai Indians camp as a net bowler. He played two games of the Syed Mushtaq Trophy from Mumbai during the 2020-21 edition where he picked up two wickets.
He went on to represent Goa for the first-class season. He is currently going through a great season while playing for Goa as he registered his career-best figure of 4/17.
Goa currently playing against Rajasthan has built up a mammoth total of 449 runs on Day two of the match.
