Washington: The paid subscription model of microblogging site Twitter has made a comeback and will be rolled out next week.
Twitter Blue, the paid subscription will charge $8 per month for web, while a subscription on iOS devices will cost $11 per month. The paid feature will include the blue checkmark and several other features like edit tweets.
The company in the announcement added that “We’re relaunching @TwitterBlue on Monday – subscribe on web for USD 8/month or on iOS for USD 11/month to get access to subscriber-only features, including the blue checkmark.”

Talking about the features, the company added that “The paid features include the blue checkmark, the ability to edit tweets, higher-quality video uploads, and reader mode ,”.
The company further revealed about the plan on labels that the accounts will carry in future. It will begin replacing the ‘official’ label with a gold checkmark for businesses, and later in the week a grey checkmark for government and multilateral accounts.
Twitter further added that “Subscribers will be able to change their handle, display name or profile photo, but if they do they’ll temporarily lose the blue checkmark until their account is reviewed again,”.
Twitter Blue updates and roll out of new features is part of Elon Musk’s plans for the future of the microblogging site. Twitter further added that “Thanks for your patience as we’ve worked to make Blue better – we’re excited and looking forward to sharing more with you soon!”.
