On putting the picture Reverse Image Search, we came across a news report on Sports Mole which featured a similar image from a different angle. The report suggested that the picture is from the recent FIFA World Cup match between Argentina and Mexico on November 27 (IST).

Taking a cue, we dig further and scanned through the official websites of Getty Images and the Associated Press photo stream with relevant keywords. Upon extensive search, we found another picture from the exact same moment as the image in question but with a different angle on the AP Images website.

As per the description, the picture was taken on November 27, 2022 (IST) after Messi scored the opening goal for Argentina against Mexico during their second match of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
