London: Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo will leave the club by mutual agreement with immediate effect post the public outburst against the top management including manager Erik Ten Hag.
The official statement released by the club added that “The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.”
The statement further added that “Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”
The confirmation comes two days ahead of Portugal’s FIFA World Cup opening game against Ghana in Qatar.
Earlier, Ronaldo did an interview with Piers Morgan where he blamed the top management over range of issues and claimed that he felt “betrayed” by the team’s management.
