FACT CHECK

NewsMobile did a fact-check and found it to be fake.

Doing a Google Reverse Image Search, we found Imgur.com had uploaded a similar image on July 1, 2022. The original image’s text on the placard reads: “Democrats and independents must unite to vote out Republicans. Vote blue this number. Paid for by concerned citizen.”

We also found that a Twitter user had shared the same image on July 1, 2022, with a caption: “This lady has been holding this sign at the middle of the intersection, stone cold, not a word uttered. I still think the country is underestimating the anger of women and Gen Z. They won’t take this sitting down. They won’t go back.”

Hence, we can ascertain that the viral image is altered and the claim is fake.
