A viral image of American President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on the cover of TIME magazine is doing the rounds on social media. The headline of the magazine allegedly calls them out to be ‘The most unpopular duo in the US political history’, and users are sharing the image, claiming it to be the October 2022 issue of the magazine.
A Facebook user posted the viral picture with a caption: America’s superiority fell with the World Trade Center in 2001, when Bush started a 20-year-war of population control. Our current administration has been involved for 20% of America’s existence.

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral picture, and found it to be false.
If an esteemed magazine like TIME had made such remarks on the President and the Vice President of the US, it would have made headlines everywhere. But we could not find a single news article about the same.
We noticed that October 2022 is written on the top right corner of the magazine, indicating it to be the October issue. While checking the cover picture on the last month’s issues in the official website of TIME, we found the images on both issues of October 2022 do not match with the viral image, hinting that the latter has been edited.
Also, running a Reverse Image Search, we found one article for The Person of the Year 2020 on the website of TIME, where the magazine awarded the title to Biden and Harris, and featured them on the cover of the magazine in the December 2020 issue.
The cover image from December 2020 matches exactly with the viral image except for the additional text that is written in the latter. This proves that the text has been edited on the original cover in order to spread misinformation.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral image, claiming TIME magazine called Biden and Harris to be ‘the most unpopular duo in US political history’, is false.
