T20 World Cup 2022: Rohit Sharma Clarifies Reports Of Injury, Selections Ahead Of Semi-Finals

Date:

Adelaide: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma highlighted the challenges of playing in Australian conditions ahead of the ultimate semi-final match against England set to unfold on Thursday.

Earlier, in one of the practice sessions ahead of the knockout encounter, skipper Rohit Sharma was injured while batting. Talking about the injury, Sharma said that “Was hit yesterday but it is fine now. There was a bruise but it is fine now,”.

After missing out on the first four games of the Super 12 stage, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant got a surprise start in the last game.

The Indian captain explained his inclusion in the last game and said, “Rishabh was the only guy who did not play. So, we wanted to give him game time. That was the thought. We have told the guys that they have to be ready for it. We wanted to provide an opportunity to the left-hander against spinners in middle overs.”

The captain also laid stress on the importance of adapting to the conditions of the ground. He further added “I remember talking about playing fearlessly. Looking at the conditions here is not about coming and swinging the bat. It is about adapting to conditions,”.
