FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.

The official Twitter handle of Elon Musk has not carried any such tweet. Through a keyword search, we could not even find any credible media report corroborating the viral claim. Had Elon Musk made such an announcement, mainstream media would have covered it.

We also did a Twitter advance search on Elon Musk mentioning TikTok in his tweets but needed help finding the same viral tweet.

We also checked to locate Elon Musk’s tweet record on PolitiTweet, a service that maintains track of public individuals’ deleted tweets but could not find the viral tweet.

Thus, it is evident from the above information that the viral screenshot, claiming that Elon Musk tweeted to buy Tiktok and delete it, is false.
