Mumbai: Police on Saturday filed a case against Dr. Anahita Pandole, a noted obstetrician and gynecologist, who was driving the car during an accident that led to the death of former Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus Mistry.

The case was filed against Dr. Pandole after the police reportedly recorded the statement of her husband Darius Pandole.

The first information report (FIR) was registered against Dr. Pandole in connection with the accident that claimed the life of industrialist Cyrus Mistry in Maharashtra’s Palghar district in September.

Dr. Pandole was booked under charges of causing death due to rash and negligence; Sections 304(A), 279, 336, and 338, newswire ANI said.

Dr. Pandole is still undergoing treatment at the ICU, the police confirmed.

Dr Pandole, Darius and Mistry were traveling from Gujarat to Mumbai when their Mercedez Benz, driven by the gynecologist, crashed into a concrete barrier on September 4 this year.

Mistry and his friend and Darius’ brother Jahangir Pandole died in the accident.
