Washington: With the new ‘Chief Twit’ Elon Musk taking charge of Twitter, the microblogging site is reportedly considering charging $20 per month (around ₹1400) for Twitter Blue feature, essentially the blue tick on verified accounts.
According to reports, Twitter is planning to launch ‘Twitter Blue’ subscription for $19.99 which will enable users to edit and undo tweets.
The report further added that under the current plan, verified users would have 90 days to subscribe or lose their blue checkmark. Employees working on the project were told that they need to meet a deadline of November 7th to launch the feature.
Earlier, Musk in a Tweet mentioned that he is planning to revamp the “verification process” currently in operation.
With this change, Twitter is likely to verify accounts who fit the two criteria of verification, namely being active on the platform and confirming their identity.
