T20 World Cup: Virat, Surya Dominate As India Beat Netherlands By 56 Runs

Date:

Sydney: Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav anchor the innings as India won the second match by 56 runs.

With this win, India reaches the top of the table in the group with two back-to-back encounters in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

In the first innings, KL Rahul struggled with his form and failed to convert his innings into an impactful one after getting dismissed early in the game.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli lead the innings as the skipper played crucial and much-needed innings of 53 runs. Kohli yet again delivers in style as he scored back-to-back half-centuries and remain unbeaten in the game.

Suryakumar Yadav played a crucial and quick knock of 51 runs in just 25 deliveries leading the side to a comfortable total of 179 runs on board.

Netherlands’ batting order had a slow and unsteady start as they kept losing wickets throughout the chase.

The batting order failed to convert big partnerships as Indian bowling attack run through the top order.

A dominant day for spinners as Ashwin and Patel bagged two wickets each on the slow pitch.

Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar manage to knock two wickets each in their respective spells.  After this clinical win, India will face South Africa in a crucial encounter on 30th October.
