Some pictures showing huge crowd are doing rounds on social media with a claim that they are from the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ organized by the Congress in Ballari, Karnataka.
Facebook users are sharing the pictures with the Hindi caption:यह भीड़ साधारण भीड़ नहीं है राहुल गांधी की #भारत_जोड़ो_यात्रा के दौरान बेल्लारी की आमसभा का दृश्य। ऐतिहासिक, अद्भुत और अकल्पनीय!
(English Translation: This crowd is not an ordinary crowd. View of Bellary during Rahul Gandhi’s #Bharat_Jodo_Yatra. Historical, amazing and unimaginable!)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be misleading.
We ran a reverse Image Search on the images and found the following:
Image 1
We put the image through a Reverse Image search and found it in a blog post from 2020 on the website of Leiden University. The image was captioned: A Pentecostal revival near Ogbomoso, Nigeria. Multi-day revivals such as this draw in millions of participants.
We also found the same image on a Nigerian news portal CKN News. According to the article dated January 2015, the picture is of a rally held by German Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke.
We then ran a search and found a similar image on Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke’s Facebook page, where it was mentioned that the picture was taken in 2002 in Nigeria.
Thus, it is clear that this picture is from Nigeria.
Image 2
A Reverse Image Search on the image led us to a tweet dated October 2021, where the same image was shared. According to the tweet, the picture is of the Vidyarthi Nirudyogula Siren rally in the Mahbubnagar district in Telangana.
The same image was also shared by Telangana Congress in October 2021.
Thus, it is clear that it is an old image from Telangana and is not related to Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Image 3
We ran a search and found that the third image was shared by Priyank Kharge on Twitter on October 15, with the caption: Massive crowds at #BharatJodoYatraInBallari today. The questions @RahulGandhi is raising on communal disharmony, unemployment & economic inequality have found great resonance in Karnataka. This has taken off the wind of the BJP’s sails.
Thus, based on the above fact check, it is clear that two of the three pictures shared in the post are old and not related to the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. Hence, the post is misleading.
