Roger Binny Files Nomination For Post Of BCCI Prez, Shah Likely To Remain Secy

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice President Rajiv Shukla on Tuesday confirmed that former Indian cricketer Roger Binny has filed nomination for the post of President.

Shukla, while interacting with newswire agency ANI added that “I have filed nomination for the post of Vice President, Roger Binny has filed nomination for the President, Jay Shah has filed for Secretary, and Ashish Shelar for Treasurer. As of now, the situation is that all will be appointed unopposed.”

He further added that the representative for the ICC Chairman’s post will be announced on October 18 in the board’s Annual General meeting.

With these nominations in place, BCCI will get its new President who will replace Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly while BJP MLA Ashish Shelar will replace Arun Dhumal as treasurer of the board.

Binny has previously served as a member of the BCCI selection committee and he is also a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team. The former pacer Roger Binny is said to be the frontrunner to replace Ganguly as the BCCI president. Binny, 67, is currently president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association.
