The video is being shared on Facebook with the caption, “Airport staff and passengers also seen playing Garba at Ahmedabad Airport. If the name is Ahmedabad, shouldn’t it be Waqf Board land, and hence instead there be Mosque at the Airport? Why is there a Mandir in the background?”

Using the InVid Tool, we extracted keyframes from the viral video and performed a Reverse Image Search with relevant keywords. This search directed us to the YouTube channel of news agency ANI which carried the same viral video on October 8, 2019, with the text, “Watch: People perform Garba at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport”.
We checked the Twitter account of ANI and found the same video uploaded on October 7, 2019, with the text, “Gujarat: Airport staff at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, staff of various airlines and passengers perform Garba at the airport terminal in Ahmedabad. The event was organised by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport administration.”

Searching further, we found the same video carried by the Times of India on October 8, 2019, with the descriptor, “Staff of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport performed Garba at the airport terminal in Ahmedabad. They were joined by a staff of various airlines and passengers. The event was organised by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport administration. Garba was performed on the occasion of the ninth day of Navratri.”
Thus, it is evident from the above information that an old video of airport staff and passengers performing Garba at Ahmedabad airport is being shared as a recent incident. Therefore, the viral claim is misleading.
