New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Thursday collected nomination forms as he formally joins the race for the party president.
“Today I have come here to collect my nomination form (for Congress president elections), Digvijaya Singh said adding that he will file it on Friday.
Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister is expected to face Shashi Tharoor, who is also likely to file his papers on Friday.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot confirmed that he will not contest the Congress president elections after meeting the interim president Sonia Gandhi.
The filing of nominations for the top Congress post will take place till September 30 and the election will take place on October 17
