FACT CHECK

NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be misleading.

Doing a Google Reverse Image search, we found the image uploaded by a website, Cricket Pakistan, dated January 5, 2020. According to the report, Twitter slammed BCCI as the ground staff at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, used hair dryer to dry the wet  pitch after rain delayed the start of 1st Twenty International (T20I) between India and Sri Lanka.

India.com also reported about the incident on January 6, 2020. The report suggested that the first T20I between India and Sri Lanka was called off due to rain followed by a damp pitch. Later, groundsmen were spotted using hair dryers to dry the pitch which gave Pakistani fans an opportunity to mock and ridicule the BCCI on social media.

Hence, we can ascertain that the viral claim is misleading.
