An image of a beef biryani spice mix box, purportedly being sold by Patanjali brand, is widely being shared on social media. The caption of the image claims that Patanjali — a company founded by Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev — has started selling beef biryani masala, too.
The image is shared with a caption: “पेश है भक्तों के लिए स्वादिष्ट खुशबूदार, मजेदार और लजीज बीफ़ बिरयानी मसाला.” (English translation: ” Here is tasty and aromated beef biryani masala.”)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile did the fact-check, and found it to be fake.
On doing a Google Reverse Image search, we found a similar image published on Amazon, which reads: “National Foods Beef Biryani Recipe Mix 1.37 oz (39g) | South Asian Mixed Spice Powder.”
Doing an image comparison, we found that in original image, neither Patanjali nor Baba Ramdev was mentioned.
And the biryani masala was being sold by a company — National Food. In the About Us section, we found that the company is from Pakistan. Its description reads: “Founded in 1970, National Foods started its journey as a spice company with a revolutionary product that popularised the concept of having clean and healthy food. Over the years, it has grown to be a leading multicategory food company celebrating 50+ years of bringing families together through innovative food products embraced by millions across the world.”
We also found that no such product was sold by Patanjali.
Hence, we can ascertain that the viral claim is fake.
