A video showing a crocodile in a waterlogged street is doing rounds on social media with a claim that it is from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.

We ran a keyword search along with a Reverse Image Search and found that the same video was shared on YouTube shorts by The Economic Times on Aug 17, 2022. The video was titled: Watch: Crocodile strays into the colony in Madhya Pradesh, rescued later.

Times Now also uploaded the video on August 13, 2022, with the title: Amid Heavy Rain Crocodile Enters Residential Colony In Madhya Pradesh | #shorts

According to a report by NDTV, a crocodile had entered a colony in Shivpuri district after a nullah overflowed and led to waterlogging in the area. The report also mentioned that it was rescued and released in a nearby lake after an hour-long operation.

Thus, from the above Fact Check, it can be concluded that the viral video is from MP and not Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
