Rahul Gandhi Likely To Halt Bharat Jodo Yatra; To Flyback To Delhi

Date:

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to return to the national capital on Thursday ahead of the commencement of nomination for the post of the party president, according to sources close to newswire agency ANI.

According to a report, Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will join and resume the Bharat Jodo Yatra on September 24.

Rahul Gandhi while addressing a press conference on the 15th day of Bharat Jodo Yatra said that the post of Congress president is an ‘ideological post’. He added that the position represents a set of ideas, belief systems, and visions of India.

He added, “It’s a historic position that defines and has defined a particular view of India. It is not just an organisational post. The Congress president is an ideological post, it is a belief system. My advice would be whoever becomes the president should remember that he represents a set of ideas and a belief system and a vision of India.”

According to a statement, the nominations for filing for the post will start from September 24 to September 30 and the final list of candidates will be released on October 8.
