New Delhi: In view of the major technical crisis over the past few months, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has further extended the restriction of SpiceJet to 50% departure till October 29.
DGCA in a statement added that “the review has indicated that there is an appreciable reduction in the number of safety incidents”.
The statement added that the authorities have decided to extend the restriction in view of an “abundance caution”. It stated, “As a matter of abundant caution the competent authority has decided that the restriction as imposed in order dated 27.07.2022 shall continue to be in force till the end of the summer schedule, i.e. 29.10.2022.”
The statement further mentioned that during this period the airline shall be subject to ‘Enhanced surveillance’ by DGCA.
