India To Take On Australia In The First T20

Date:

Mohali: Men In Blue are all set to take on Australia in the first T20I match at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium on Tuesday.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid will be looking to take full advantage of the two home T20 series ahead of the World Cup. The side is expected to move ahead in the game and series with the World Cup playing XI combination.

The clash between the two sides has always been a high-intensity one. However, Aaron Finch and his side will look for some experimentation with the playing XI. Aussies star batsman David Warner has been rested for the series. Smith will be looking to get some runs and get back on track with his batting ahead of the T20 WC.

After an unfortunate end to the Asia Cup campaign, skipper Rohit Sharma claimed that the side is 90-95% ready for the upcoming tournament. The team will be looking to go ahead with the aggressive batting approach that has worked quite well for the side.

If Kohli scores another hundred in this series, he will surpass Ricky Ponting in terms of centuries scored and establish himself as the second-highest century-maker in international cricket.

Virat is also just 207 runs away from becoming the second-highest run-getter for Team India in international cricket history.

He is also 207 runs away from becoming the sixth-highest run-scorer in international cricket. With him back in form and his exemplary records in home series, the contest will be a complete package for fans across the board.
