Days after locals in Uttar Pradesh spotted a train of mysterious white lights in the sky, a video showing similar visuals started making rounds on social media with a claim that SpaceX’s Starlink satellites were passing over India recently.

We ran a keyword search along with a Reverse Image Search of the keyframes of the video and found that the same video was shared on YouTube on January 11, 2021, with the title: Starlink satellites train #Shorts
The video description read: Starlink satellites train seen from Poland. Starlink is a satellite constellation being constructed by SpaceX in order to provide satellite Internet access.
We also compared the screengrabs of the viral video with the one present on YouTube and found them to be exactly the same.
This proves that the video in circulation is not from Uttar Pradesh.
What were the strange lights that were visible in Uttar Pradesh?
On, September 12, many users took to social media to share pictures of trains of white lights in the sky. According to a report by TOI, the video shows starlink-51 satellite train.
We also found that on September 11, Elon Musk-owned SpaceX had confirmed the deployment of 34 Starlink satellites.
According to the website Space.com, ‘Starlink is the name of a satellite network developed by SpaceX to provide low-cost internet to remote locations.
Thus, it is clear from the above post that the video going viral online is not from India and is not related to the recent sighting of Starlink-51 satellite in India.
