Kutch: The Indian Coast Guard in a joint operation with the Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad seized 40 kg heroin worth Rs 200 crore on Wednesday, from a Pakistani fishing boat in Indian waters off the Gujarat coast.
The fishing boat carrying drugs was intercepted mid-sea by the joint team of the Coast Guard and ATS near Kutch’s Jakhau harbor.
Six Pakistani crew members of the boat were also apprehended, according to newswire ANI.
“The heroin was meant to be transported to Punjab by road after being offloaded on the Gujarat coast. Based on a specific tip-off, we intercepted the boat which left from Pakistan, and caught six Pakistani nationals with 40 kg of heroin,” the senior ATS reportedly said.
Pakistani crew of the boat have been caught and being questioned says the ICG officials.
