FACT CHECK

NewsMobile did a fact check and found the claim to be fake.

On searching with appropriate keywords, we found the same article was published by a website named, ‘The Fauxy‘. The title of the article read, “India will be cornered if it doesn’t get hit by recession like rest of the world: Raghuram Rajan.” It was published by the website on September 2, 2022.

The About Us section of the article read, “The Fauxy is an entertainment media company that connects with young, intelligent and diverse audiences that are shaping our future. Through thought-provoking comedy, and high-impact storytelling we aim to start a conversation around subjects that are usually viewed as a taboo for today’s youth.”

It also had a disclaimer that read, “The Fauxy is an entertainment portal. The content of this website is purely for entertainment purpose and readers are advised not to confuse the articles of The Fauxy as genuine and true.”

We could not find any media report either to corroborate that Rajan made any such remark.

Hence, we can ascertain that the viral claim is fake.
