The Chambal River is in spate, flooding large parts of Bhind, Morena, and Sheopur, while the water level is decreasing elsewhere in the state, according to The Free Press Journal report. The river’s current level is 8 metres above the danger mark. Additionally, three IAF helicopters have been actively involved in the rescue effort.
In the above context, a video of a boy being rescued by the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) is widely shared on social media with a caption, claiming that it is from the recent Chambal flood.
The video is shared with a caption: “फ़िल्मों जैसा असल सीन है! चम्बल नदी में यह बच्चा डूब रहा था, पीछे मगरमच्छ भी थे। रेस्क्यू टीम सही समय पर पहुँच गई और इस बालक को हाथ पकड़कर खींच लायी।
सल्यूट!” (English translation: “It’s a real scene like a movie! This kid was drowning in the Chambal river, crocodiles were also behind. The rescue team reached at the right time and dragged this boy by the hand. Salute!”)

NewsMobile did the fact check, and found it to be misleading.
On doing a Google Reverse Image search with one of the keyframes, we found the same video uploaded by a Facebook page, Bangla news update, dated June 19, 2022.

Another report said that Chandpur was a place situated in Bangladesh. According to the report, many major and minor accidents happen at the allure of the Meghna-Padma-Dakatia River.
Hence, we can confirm that the viral video is from Bangladesh, and quite old. Thus, the viral claim is misleading.
