FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.
We did a keyword search, but couldn’t find any news report that corroborated the viral claim.
But according to the Dainik Bhaskar article, published a month ago, Haryana State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh has said that elections to Panchayati Raj institutions in the state will be conducted in a single round. First, the elections of the Zilla Parishad and Block Committee will be held… The polls will be held by end of September. All preparations have been completed. The state government is yet to decide on the date. However, the election date has not been mentioned anywhere in the news. Several other articles also covered this news, but none of them has mentioned about the announcement of election date.
We also searched the official website of Haryana Election Commission, but could not find any such press release mentioning about the election dates.
Surprisingly, a tweet by the official fact check handle of the Directorate of Information, Public Relations and Language of Haryana has stated that the message of the announcement of panchayat election dates is fake. The department has called it a rumour.
#Haryana #FactCheck
