A ‘tribute’ video has surfaced on the internet stating that Bollywood actor Sunny Deol is no more.
The text in Hindi reads: “सनी देओल अब इस दुनिया में नहीं रहे. भगवन उनकी आत्मा को शांति दे”
(Translation: “Sunny Deol is no more. May his soul rest in peace”)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be FAKE.
We started our investigation with a search on Google with relevant keywords, but the search did not yield any authentic report about the demise of the actor.
Taking our investigation further, we scanned through the social media handles of Deol, who is also a Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur in Punjab. We found that he is very active on Twitter as at the time of filing this report, his last tweet was dated August 25, 2022.
The tweet was about his upcoming film ‘Chup’.
Further, if the viral post had been true, it would have been widely reported by the media. We scanned all major media channels and newspapers along with their websites but there was absolutely no report on these lines.
Hence, the above findings establish that the post about Sunny Deol’s demise is FAKE.
