New Delhi: An acclaimed scientist Samir V Kamat has been appointed as the Secretary of the Department of Defence Research and Development, and Chairman of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Thursday.
Samir Kamat was posted as the Director General, Naval Systems and Materials, at the DRDO and will now succeed G.Satheesh Reddy.
According to a PTI report, present Secretary G Satheesh Reddy has been appointed as Scientific Adviser to Defence Minister.
Kamat will hold the office of Chairman till he attains the age of 60 years or until further orders.
