Mumbai: Mumbai Police on Saturday launched an investigation on the threats received claiming a 26/11-like terror attack will be repeated in the city.
The Mumbai Police has registered a case against an unknown person under section 506(2) of IPC at Worli police station after a threat message warning of a 26/11-like terrorist attack was received by Mumbai Police traffic control from a Pak-based phone number.
Mumbai CP Vivek Phansalkar confirmed that “Mumbai’s traffic police control received some messages, talking about spreading terror, they were threatening. The texts mentioned that some of the threat’s associates are also active in India.”
He further assured the people of Mumbai that the police are taking the threat seriously and has launched the ‘Sagar Kavach’ operation & alerted the agencies to secure the maritime boundary. He further added that the Mumbai Police is not ruling out any possibilities.
