Kashmiri Pandit Shot Dead, Brother Injured In Shopian, Second Attack In Two Days

Shopian: Another Kashmiri Pandit was shot dead and his brother injured by terrorists at an apple orchard in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday. This is the second attack on a local in two days.

The name of the deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar Bhat. The police further added that his brother Pinto is being treated at a local hospital.

Ravindra Raina, BJP president in Jammu and Kashmir said that “ Coward Pakistani terrorists targeted minority Hindus. Two brothers, Kashmiri Hindus, Sunil Kumar and Pintu were targeted by coward Pakistani terrorists.”

Raina further assured that the people involved in the targeting of Kashmiri Pandits will be punished.

National Conference Leader and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah took to Twitter and drew sharp remarks against the attack and offered his condolences.

He further added “Terribly sad news from South Kashmir today. An accident & a militant attack have left a trail of death & suffering. I condemn the militant attack in Shopian unequivocally in which Sunil Kumar was killed & Pinto Kumar injured. My condolences to the family.”
