FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.
Using the InVid Tool, we extracted keyframes from the viral video and performed a Reverse Image Search. This search directed us to a news report published on August 11, 2022, that carried visuals similar to the viral video. According to this news, the viral video is from Highlight Mall in Kozhikode, Kerala, where a promotional event for the Malayalam film Thallumaala was to be held on August 10, 2022. But for this event, the mall got overcrowded than expected and ultimately, the event was cancelled due to security reasons.
Many news articles have also reported the same incident, saying that Thallumaala promotion cancelled in Kozhikode due to massive crowd. ”We also found a video news report — published by India Today on August 11 — carrying the same viral video with a caption: “Thallumaala promotions cancelled as fans swarm Kozhikode Mall in Kerala.”
In the Facebook page of Kozhikode’s Highlight Mall, there was a picture of the mall similar to the viral video. This confirms that the viral video is from Highlight Mall in Kozhikode.
Thus, it is confirmed that the video from Kerala’s mall is being falsely shared as a huge crowd gathered at Lucknow’s Lulu Mall to watch Aamir Khan’s new movie.
