The caption associated with the image reads: “20 th july কোলাঘাটে গোপন মিটিং এ লোডশেডিং অধিকারী ও কুজন চক্রবর্তী। ঐ দিন রাতেই গোপন মিটিং এর ফল 22nd July at Kolaghat, India. NewsMobile did the fact-check, and found it to be fake.
On doing a Google search with appropriate keywords, we found no media reports to suggest that Suvendu met Sujan recently.
Through a Google Reverse Image Search, we found the same photo uploaded by Anand Bazaar on October 30, 2021. According to the report, the image is of Suvendu Adhikari meeting Sujan Chakraborty at his house after Assembly.
TV9 Bangla had also uploaded the same image on October 30 2021, with a caption: “Sujan came to Subhendu’s house.”
Hence, we can ascertain that the viral image is old, and there was no recent secret meeting between the two. Thus, the viral claim is fake.
