Fact Check: 2020 Image Falsely Linked To Recent Trump Rally in Wisconsin City of US

Date:

On August 5, former US President Donald Trump held a Save America rally for the state and local politicians in Waukesha, Wisconsin in the US. Against this backdrop, an image showing a crowd of people with many wearing red caps is extensively shared on social media, linking it to the recent Trump rally in Wisconsin.

The image is shared on Facebook with a caption: “Another HUGE crowd at the Trump rally in Wisconsin last night for the most loved president in the history of America by a country mile.”

Here’s the link to the above post

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, it was found to be MISLEADING.

Through a Reverse Image Search, we traced a Twitter post that carried the same viral image on November 16, 2020. The text reads: “Biden couldn’t get 10 people to a rally & went days without leaving his house. @realDonaldTrump received 11 million more votes than in 2016, nearly doubling African-American support this was every stop, multiple times a day. This election was rigged from the beginning.”

The picture was also used in many publications, including Newsweek, referring to the 2020 US presidential election.

Thus, it is confirmed that an old image has been falsely linked to a recent Trump rally in Wisconsin city.
