New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister on Wednesday alleged a ₹6000 crore toll tax scam in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). He further wrote a letter to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and demanded a CBI probe in this matter.
Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party levelled allegations against MCD that it collided with two toll tax companies and caused a huge loss to the public exchequer.
Manish Sisodia in a tweet added that he has written a letter to LG in connection with the toll tax scam in the MCD. He further added that a CBI investigation has been demanded in the case. The tweet further added that the money taken from about 10 lakh commercial vehicles coming to Delhi every day was consumed in connivance with two private firms.
According to a report by PTI, AAP’s MCD in-charge and MLA Durgesh Pathak alleged that there was a large-scale scam being carried out in toll tax collection by BJP leaders who were then in power of the MCD.
The MCD in response has termed these allegation levelled against them as baseless and without facts.
