All You Need To Know About  Jagdeep Dhankhar, 14th Vice President Of India

New Delhi: NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar was declared the 14th Vice President of India on Saturday. 

Jagdeep Dhankhar hails from village Kithana of the Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan. He completed his schooling at Sainik School in Chittorgarh and further pursued a career in law after graduating with a B.Sc. and LLB from the University of Rajasthan. He was designated as a Senior Advocate by the High Court of Rajasthan. 

He further went on to be selected as the President of the Rajasthan High Court Bar Association in the year 1987. 

His political journey kickstarted in the year 1989 after contesting and winning Lok Sabha election from the Jhunjhunu district representing Janata Dal. He further held office important committee in the parliament. He became the chairman of a parliamentary committee in 1990. 

He was appointed as the Governor of West Bengal on 30th July 2019 and developed a firm stand on issues relating to the people of Bengal. 

After the announcement of his candidature for the vice presidential elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders of the BJP referred to him as the “kisan putra” and “people’s governor”.
