With this win, India reached the finals of the Women’s Four Lawn Bowl event for the first time, ensuring a silver medal in the games.
The quartet of Pinki Choudhary, Nayanmoni Saika, Lovely Choubey, and Rupa Rani scripted a major win over New Zealand by defeating them with a margin of 16-13. The India quartet Lovely started with a 0-5 trail in the semi-final. It kept its nerves and fought back to gain a 7-6 lead which eventually widened to 10-7.
The Indian team will face South Africa in the finals of the event on Tuesday and fight for their bid on another gold medal in the tally.
