Birmingham: Indian Women’s team register their first win at the Commonwealth Games after defeating Pakistan by eight wickets in the second T20 game at the Edgbaston.
Pakistan Women’s Team won the toss and elected to bat first. Sneh Rana turned the tides in a single over by getting the wickets of Muneeba Ali and Bismah Maroof. Other batters failed to contribute and convert their innings as the team managed to put up 100 runs in 18 overs for India to chase.
Smriti Mandhana remained unbeaten as she played a power-packed inning of 63 runs with eight boundaries and three sixes. India chased down the low target in just 11.4 overs.
Smriti Mandhana and Shefali cemented a great start for the side as they summed up the game for the day. Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav bagged two wickets each in the game and completed a comprehensive and economical spell in the first innings.
