Birmingham: Indian Women’s team will clash with the Pakistan Women’s team in the ongoing Commonwealth Games at the Edgbaston Ground on Sunday.
India started off the commonwealth campaign with a loss against Australia. Ashleigh Gardner’s unbeaten innings of an unbeaten half-century led the team to a comfortable three-wicket win in the last game.
Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is in form as she played an exceptional inning of 52 runs in the last game. Smriti Mandhana failed to convert the innings and was dismissed by Darcie Brown. Shefali Verma played a crucial knock of 48 runs contributing to the team’s total.
Indian All-rounder Veda Krishnamurthy during an interview with Star Sports talked about the highly anticipated clash against Pakistan and added that “the passion towards the game increases hundred fold.”
Indian Women’s side has an upper hand when it comes to T20 clashes against Pakistan as the team has won nine games in a total of eleven encounters.
India will be looking to get back on track and win the game against Pakistan and ensure their bid in the qualifying round.
